After graduation from Duke University School of Law, York Attorney Herm Gailey spent the early years of his career representing insurance companies in claims brought by injured individuals. It didn't take long for Herm to realize that his sympathies and interests lay on the other side of the table. More than 20 years ago, he began representing accident victims and has never looked back. However, his extensive knowledge of the insurance industry makes him a particularly effective advocate for individuals bringing claims against these huge, sophisticated companies.

This unique background explains why he also frequently serves as a mediator and arbitrator in disputed cases involving plaintiffs and insurance companies. Both sides trust his experience and judgment.

Raised on a farm, Herm spent several years between college and law school training horses professionally. He now enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter on their farm where he continues to train the family's horses.

David W. Moellman

  • University of Maryland - Bachelor of Science
  • Pennsylvania State University - Master of Public Administration
  • University of Maryland School of Law
  • Pennsylvania Bar Association
  • Maryland State Bar Association
  • American Bar Association
  • American Health Lawyers Association
  • American College of Healthcare Executives
  • Licensed Physical Therapist
  • Former Hospital Administrator

David Moellman is not your ordinary York attorney. As an undergrad, the Baltimore native earned his degree in physical therapy at University of Maryland. He then treated patients with traumatic bone injury and other serious physical problems, eventually becoming Director of Physical Medicine at Hanover Hospital. The decision to become a personal injury lawyer after graduation from the University of Maryland Law School was a natural one. Dave now uses his extensive medical background and law degree to help injured accident victims in a new way.

Dave is different in other ways, too. He’s a second degree black belt in Taekwondo, a Korean martial art and combat sport, and has even done some full-contact bouts. (“Put defense counsel on notice,” he says with a laugh.)

Dave also enjoys outdoor activities such as dirt-biking and riding horses on his southern York County farm and surfs year-round. He is married and has two children in college.
